The fee to buy the application for Minors is Rs. 600 for a duration of five years. A Minor Is any one below the age of 15. It is important to get a passport issued even for Minors or infants as many countries may not grant the Visa if there is no passport. Most of the European countries require even a tiny infant to carry a Passport with him/her and he cannot just travel on the passport of any of his/her parents.
In the case of the Minors, you need to buy the application form and fill up all the necessary information and data. The necessary proof of the address, date of birth needs to be submitted with the Application form. Seven identical photographs which may be black and white or coloured are also required with the form. Self attested photo copies of the passport of the parents of the minor or the local guardians is required to be submitted with the Application. If the Minor has local guardians then an Affidavit is also required to be submitted. In the case of separate or divorced parents an affidavit is again required.
If one of the parents is unable to get the consent of the other parent then too, the passport can be made if an affidavit duly signed is presented with the application form of the minor in question. If at all, only one parent gives the consent to take the minor outside then the actual presence of the minor may be required in order to be certain that the child is being taken of his own free will and then only the passport will be granted.
