This regional passport office has been functional for the last thirty years from 1978. It wasn’t one of the five passport offices which were set up in 1954 but then due to the immense requirement it had to be opened in 1978. The passport office caters to all residents from Bangalore and also to all people from all the districts of the state of Karnataka. So any person who has a registered address in the state of Karnataka can get a passport issued in his/her name.
The passport office is open on all five days of the week from Monday to Friday but is closed on the weekend days of Saturday and Sunday. And the office is also shut on all public and government holidays. The applications can be submitted on all working days through out the week from 9.30 am to 12.00 noon. The appointments to meet the officers are also given are also given at the same time through out the day. For the submission of applications for all the people who have filled the application forms online, the timings are from 2.30 to 5.30 pm every working day on prior appointments.
