This passport is generally issued only under emergency situations and extra fees may be charged for it.

Rs. 1000 is the fees for a new passport of 36 pages for 10 years validity and Rs. 1500 are the fees for a new passport of 60 pages for 15 years validity. To get a passport within ten days of application under the Tatkal Scheme the fees is Rs. 1500. And to get the passport issued in 11-35 days from the time of submission of the application is Rs. 1000. The payments can be made either in the form of a bank draft in the name of the Regional Passport officer or by paying through Cash.
